Low Impact Fisheries in the Baltic Sea

The Fisheries Secretariat in partnership with WWF Sweden are hosting a Baltic Conference to Explore Opportunities for Low Impact Fisheries in the Baltic Sea.

The conference will run from lunch-to-lunch 26-27 September 2012, at the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute (MIR), Gdynia, Poland

BS RAC Seminar on Ecosystem Based Management (EBM)

Baltic Sea RAC is hosting a seminar on ecosystem-based management. The seminar will take place from lunch-to-lunch 25-26 September at the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute (MIR), Kallataja str. 1, in Gdynia, Poland. Note that it takes place the day before the Fisheries Secretariat and WWF Sweden conference on Low Impact Fisheries alternatives in the Baltic Sea region – this also takes place at MIR.

Marine Centre – lectures on the Baltic Sea

Location: Simrishman, Sweden

Dates: 24 - 25 September 2012

Professor Sture Hansson from Stockholm Universitet will talk about the Baltic from a historical perspective on the evening of the 24th. It will take place at the Marine Center conference hall “Skeppet". On the 25th, Klas-Göran Karlsson from Lund University will discuss the Baltic as a uniting and dividing force. Both will take place from 19.00-20.00.
