BS RAC joint working group – pelagic and demersal

The proposed discard ban and its implementation in the Baltic Sea will be the focus of the meeting along with the proposed long-term multi-species management plan. The meeting will be held at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Copenhagen, Slotsholmsgade 12, 1216 Copenhagen K, meeting room B, between 11-17.

Fisheries Committee (PECH) meeting

Agenda forthcoming. Following on from the PECH meeting on 6 September, amendments submitted for the Basic Regulation will now have been consolidated into a list of compromise amendments. These will be discussed at the meeting. Alain Cadec (EPP, FR) will present his draft report on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) to the committee.

Artisanal Fisheries in the Mediterranean ‐ a new approach to their management

The roundtable discussion has been organised by the Mediterranean Platform of Artisanal Fishers (MedArtNet), and will take place on September 18 between 1130-1300 in the European Parliament (room ASP 5F385). It will be introduced by the chair of the Fisheries Committee (PECH) Gabriel Mato Androver (EPP, ES).

European Parliament – shadown rapporteurs meet to negotiate compromise amendments

Dates: 17 September 2012

The Ulrike Rodust (S&D, DE) report on the Basic Regulation in the CFP reform for the Fisheries Committee (PECH) report has received 2,549 amendments. These will be condensed into compromise amendments and a final voting list will be compiled by the PECH Secretariat ahead of the final committee vote on 8-9 October.

Informal meeting of Director-Generals Fisheries

The meeting provides a forum for Member States to have an exchange of views as a precursor to the Council meeting on 24-25 September, at which the reform of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) will be discussed.
