Marine Strategy Framework Directive and the Marine Strategy Coordination Group (MSCG) will host its 10^th meeting of the Working Group on Data, Information and Knowledge Exchange (WG DIKE).

The meeting will take place at the Conference Centre Albert Borschette, Room AB/0B, Rue Froissart 36, B-1040 Brussels.

The ASCOBANS Secretariat is pleased to announce that the 21^st Meeting of the ASCOBANS Advisory Committee will be held from 29 September to 1 October 2014 in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the kind invitation of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management. More info forthcoming.

The fishing sector, NGOs, national administrations, EU institutions and interested members of the public are invited to participate in a seminar and discussion on the status of European fish stocks and the economic situation of European fishing fleets. 

Presentations will be made by senior experts in fisheries biology concerning the Mediterranean and Black Seas, the northeast Atlantic and nearby waters, and a senior fisheries economist concerning the economic structure of the fishing vessels of the EU. 

A discussion on fisheries  management measures will also be held. The meeting will be chaired by Mrs. Lowri Evans, Director-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

Herring symposium focusing on herring in the southern Baltic – mainly Sweden, Poland and Germany. The project seeks to improve the sustainable and holistic management of herring in the South Baltic Region.

Get to know your neighbor - Save the Baltic Sea together is organised by Östersjöfonden with the aim to increase collaboration between organisation in Sweden, Finland and Åland.

The workshop will take place in Mariehamn, Åland 22-23 September.
