In Simrishamn, herring and herring fishing have been important for a long time. The event Sillens dag is therefore a beloved tradition and a celebration of the herring where all ages are welcome. This year Sillens dag will be held on Saturday September 16th. Activities include tasting traditional herring dishes, learning how to smoke herring the old-fashioned way, trying fishing nets, making historic fishing gear and much more.
