FISH looking for new staff member

Published on July 25, 2009

Because of new project funding and a shifting of responsibilities within the Fisheries Secretariat, we are now searching for a new member of staff.

FISH is looking to recruit a new team member to assist with our ongoing policy work. The successful candidate will take part in our work on “greening” international fisheries policy, with a focus on cod and IUU in the Baltic region. Working tasks will include liasing with our partners around the Baltic, policy analysis and developing proposals, as well as extensive contacts with other stakeholders through the Baltic Sea Regional Advisory Council and other fora.

Previous experience of environmental and/or fisheries policy work, understanding of the EU political processes and a keen interest for developments in these areas is desirable. The post requires excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English, and knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.

The post is a one-year contract part-time (50 % with a possibility for full-time depending on pending funding applications), preferably beginning in October 2009. Salary: Please state your demands in the application.

We prefer electronic applications, which should be sent to info@fishsec.org. We need your application by 12 August 2009; mark it T1/09. Interviews will be held in week 35.
