The Fisheries Secretariat (FishSec) is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection and restoration of marine ecosystem services, with a focus on fisheries. Our goal is well-managed seas with rich biodiversity and thriving fish stocks to secure healthy and local seafood to consumers and a sustainable fishing sector. Advocating for fisheries within the limits of the marine ecosystem, preserving marine resources as well as their habitats, we are mainly active in the EU and regional policy development in the Baltic Sea. The aim is to implement policy that ensures sustainable fishing. FishSec does that through analysis, research, communication and dialogue with policymakers and stakeholders, building on science and practical experience.
