The European Environment Agency activities can be characterised into two categories:

· First EEA publish reports on the state and pressures on Europe’s environment (see reports related to fisheries here). The comprehensive State of Environment Reports (SOER) generally contains chapters describing the state of Europe fisheries.

· Second EEA has activities for producing indicators for assessing environmental performance of European marine fisheries and aquaculture.

EEA activities is performed in close cooperation with EEA member countries and international organisations such as ICES and secretariat of Sea Conventions
