The Fisheries Secretariat is currently involved in a number of focused efforts and projects:

  • FISH in the BS RAC

    Together with representatives of the fishing sector and other interest groups, the Fisheries Secretariat is a member of the Baltic Sea Regional Advisory Council (BS RAC) - one way to influence the fisheries policy and other measures that affect fish stocks and the natural environment of the Baltic Sea.   • OCEAN2012

    In early 2009, the Fisheries Secretariat was one of five organisations that came together to the OCEAN2012 alliance, with the purpose of transforming European fisheries in a sustainable direction. Today OCEAN2012 - where FISH is part of the steering group - has more than 120 members in Europe and abroad, representing 20 EU Member States. Read more »
  • Focus Poland

    In 2007 the Fisheries Secretariat (FISH) decided to focus its work on the Baltic Sea region and the critical situation of its two cod stocks; Poland was selected as a key country. Since then, FISH has been collaborating with a number of Polish NGOs in order to raise public awareness and work on public opinion in this field. Read more »
